It’s been a particularly long week and while I’ve got a few runs in (some good, some not so good), it’s been difficult to do anything worthy of blog content.
So this week I’m going to settle for a Throw Back Thursday – to RunThrough Victoria Park Half Marathon in March 2018.
That race is still my Half Marathon PB – 1:22:48. I haven’t run many pure half marathons in the past year, with the focus on ultras. But now the sub-3 hour marathon training is back on there should be a few speedy half marathons along the way.
This past weekend I ran my 50th lifetime marathon at Richmond Runfest – 49 of which in the last two years. My recap of the race is now online here, or by selecting “Race Reviews” from the drop down menu at the top of the page.
So this is a fairly big one even for me, even if the ultras are “baby” ultras. Thursday, Friday, Saturday morning, Saturday evening and Sunday 🏃
Saturday will be the hardest to judge. Get around the morning ultra as fast as I can to give myself a longer rest before the afternoon one, or treat it like one long ultra with an enforced lunch break? 🤔
Not entirely sure I even have this in me at the moment if I’m honest but I’ll give it everything. Run until I drop and then start crawling 🙌 after this it’s three weeks race free to recover before the Cotswolds Way 100km.
As ever, I’ll post a combined race report of the five-in-four after they’re run.
